Here is a few more photos of our trip to Kilarney... which was my first visit to our new cottage. This is the view on the boat ride to the cottage..... towering rock walls covered in pine trees.... just breathtaking.... This is the back of the cottage.... those are bear scratches.... I admit I did some reading up on black bears and what happens if you run into them.... we haven't yet....(counting blessings)

Oh Jenn! How breathtakingly marvelous! Is this your summer place then? Do be careful of the bears! I'm so envious, can't wait to see more photos!
Take care,
m

Oh, I am speechless.
What a joy it is to be able to read posts like this and dip into others' lives. Places I would normally never be able to visit.
You are going to have such wonderful times in this exquisite place. Looking orward to seeing more.x
Wow, Jenn! That is so neat! I bet it's going to be so pretty once you put your "touch" on it!
How exciting! Such a peaceful looking place to bring your family and get away from the day to day bustle! And that view from the bedroom is dreamy! I love birch trees! Best you pick the strawberries to take away the temptation for the bears!

Are you kidding me? This looks like a fairytale cottage!! Wow! Wondering where Killarney is - somewhere in Canada? It is stunning!! Please post frequently on your new home. I can live vicariously that way. Thanks for visiting my site. Hope you come back.
ps. those bear scratches are wild!!
What lovely scenery.....
What ever you do don't feed the bears. It is also best not to wipe your hand across the scratches or any other part of the house. The bears will be attracted to the sent and will lick at the salt (salt from your skin) that you may leave behind. This in turn will lead to more future sniffing, licking and scratching of other bears. Best to cover that splintered area with a light coating of pitch tar. Bears hate the smell.
What a wonderful place to create new memories. One part of my family hails from Killarney, Ireland, and your Killarney looks like another magical place too!
Enjoy.
