Show and Tell Sundays: "Stuff Storage"

This week's Show and Tell Sunday's topic is storage of stuff in your studio.... and us girls tend to accumulate stuff... don't we! Here is a look at all of my stuff.... I know.... there is ALOT!

I use old mason jars for storing ribbons and trims.....
Old shaker jars for glass glitter.....

Old muffin tins for little bits and bobs.....

Old square baskets for pens, pencils, scissors.....

And an old memory board for favorite photos, momentos and inspiration...

My little corner of the world is less than perfect.... but its the one place I can lose myself and create something that I love.....

Feeling the Time Crunch

My "inner voice" has been calling to me..... read....read....read. Seems to hit around this time every year when I dream of my shady porch swing, a big tall lemondade, and time to read a good book. With a full time job, 3 kids and a busy husband it sure can be hard to find some "me" time. I have a stack of books just waiting for me to dive in...... but seems like the only time I can get is at 10 O'clock at night and after 3 minutes I cannot keep my eyes open. How do we make time for ourselves??

You Gave me Love

When I was lonely.... you were there;
When I was cold.....you gave me warmth;
When I was afraid.... you were brave;
When I was lost.... you found me;
When I was weak.... you gave me strength;
When I was uncertain..... you stood tall;
When I asked.... you gave me your world.

For the wonderful friend, husband and father you are, I offer you my world.
Happy Birthday. I love you.

Show and Tell Sundays: China

This week the topic for Show and Tell Sunday's, hosted by Little Pink Studio and Sugar Sugar, is China. I really had to pick and choose for this one.... have lots of china..... here are some that are close to my heart....

This red transferware pitcher was given to me by someone very near and dear to my heart.... and it is very special.....

Red transferware cream and sugar..... I love the shape of the sugar bowl......

Red transferware cups..... love the big one.... it holds lots of tea!

This is the only purple transferware piece that I have. Its just so pretty.

These are my blue transferware cannisters..... are you getting the theme here?? ;-)

This cookie jar belonged to my grandmother.... and someday I will pass it along to one of my daughters - the paint has all worn off the cherries but I adore it nonetheless......

These are my everyday dishes.... and so are these.....

I also have an incredible white ironstone platter that belonged to my great grandmother and was passed down to me. Its so heavy and incredibly gorgeous, but unfortunately, did not photograph well. I also have a collection of green depression glass.... but I better quit before I go on all night!! Thank you for visiting!

Angels watching over me....

Does this image look familiar to you? This belonged to my mom and was hung in my bedroom when I was a little girl. She gave it to me as a birthday gift a few years back and each time I look at it.... sweet childhood memories come flooding back. Funny how something can spark all that memory. It is dear to my heart.

Show and Tell Sundays: Linens

This week's "Show and Tell Sunday's" topic is Linens..... let me first apologize for my lack of ironing.... (just not high on the priority list!) I love vintage baby linens and florals as you will see by some of my favorites which I have photographed here. The baby blanket was mine when I was a baby and is a possession close to my heart. I have always longed for a piece of vintage toille or a chenille bedspread..... I am thinking some of you are going to make me into a green eyed monster!! Thank you to Sugar Sugar and Little Pink Studio for Show and Tell Sundays.

Vintage baby....

When I found an entire book of vintage baby cards I nearly fell over. They were just sitting there....at the antique mall.... waiting for me..... pages, and pages of them. I kept my favorites and sold the rest...... they just make me smile. Baby happy or what???!!

Birthday in a nutshell....

Thank you to everyone who sent me well wishes today. I had a lovely day.... enjoyed a turtle parade...flowers....laughter.....and a lovely sunset. What more could a girl ask for??

Happy 37.....

I turn 37 today. Can't believe I am 37 really...... it sounds a little close to 40 for my liking! Really, I don't mind... my age has never really bothered me much but I cannot believe how fast the years go by.... in a blink. I am told it gets faster as you get older! Oh no!! But what I know in my heart is that you must live each day.... enjoy each moment..... cherish your family and friends.... and find your bliss and hope that you have many many more days to share.......

Happy Mother's Day.....

This week's "Show and Tell Sundays" theme is Moms....( thanks to Sugar Sugar for hosting! )http://leesiebella.typepad.com/leesiebella/ Well, since I already wished my mom a happy mother's day in my previous post I thought I would show you the three big reasons why I think I am the luckiest mom in the world..... Here are my three babies..... they don't much look like this anymore.... oh, how I miss those sweet baby faces. Those chubby little cherubs have been replaced by my three much loved little people - whom I would be lost without. Their sweet words, their soft touches, their gentle ways - I am truly blessed with three wonderful children and being their mom is just about the luckiest thing that ever happened to me.

Blissful Blooms

Putting my family and friends aside for a moment, flowers are one of the things that bring bliss to my life. I am amazed by their beauty, their variety, their spirit. It is undeniably brave that they can lie underneath the cold earth during our long, bitter winters and still peek their happy heads up come spring thaw. They get me through the winter, they bring me home from work each night, they fill my dreams with colour.... passionate flowers. I love many varieties of flowers but peonies are closest to my heart. You'll soon be seeing pictures of them here..... Do you have a favorite??

Ode to Mom....

Happy Mother's Day. I know.... I am early. (I won't be with my mom on mother's day.... I will be away with my daughters... so I am wishing my mom an early mom's day.) It is because of you that I am here today. It is because of you that I am who I am. It is because of you that I am able to gaze into my own children's eyes. I thank you for all that you have given me, and for all that you do.... for what a wonderful grandma you are, and for all the sharing of yourself that you do with us. Thank you for you. I love you. Happy Mother's Day.
