Loaner?

Does anyone have a baby I could snuggle for awhile..... oh, if only, for a moment.

Henriette of France as Flora

This was painted by Jean-Marc Nattier in 1742. Isn't she so lovely? The original is located in Uffizi Gallery in Florence. Maybe someday.... I might see her in person....... Oh, to dream.

Vintage Playing Cards

I received this Queen of Hearts from Rebecca and just loved it: Wished I could have the whole deck...... love the image.... and then while at the flea market... I stumbled upon this.....

Two complete decks! I am in heaven.... thinking I should sell one whole deck or split one deck up but I love them so! Aren't they sweet??

Rusty old Buttons

I tend to visit (rather regularly) a small town thrift store where I seem to discover the most interesting things....well, interesting to me anyways! Check out these old buttons.... the jar, at first glance, seemed rather dull, but then one caught my eye, and then another, and then another! My husband thought I was crazy standing over the kitchen sink washing buttons! Here are just a few..... what will I do with them?? I don't know that yet!!

Aren't they neat?? Oh, and Happy 1st day of Summer to You! This beautiful butterfly made an appearance at my daughter's 9th birthday party..... what a treat!

Pam Garrison's Bonjour Kit

I finally finished my Pam Garrison's Paris Bonjour Art Kit. I have had it sitting in my art room for about a month but once I started doing it I couldn't stop! So much fun to do and such a great kit.

Show and Telll Sunday: Favorite Finds

This week's topic for Show and Tell Sunday is your favorite flea market find. Thank you to Heidi http://hkwdesign.blogspot.com/2008/06/show-tell-sunday.html for hosting! I just love flea markets so I have a "few" things that I have found which are near and dear to me.

This very old print of a Botticelli painting is a favorite because it speaks to me. Perhaps because I am a mother, or my love for babies, I don't know, it just does and I am glad that I can look at it every single day.....

Right now I am also loving old laces, trims, buttons, and other notions, which I use in my scrapbooks and art journals.... Here is my big glass jar which holds them for me. I love to look at them as much as I love to use them......

And finally.... this old vintage photograph of a professor and his students? I don't really know for sure who they are or why they came together - I just know that it makes me smile.

I found this old gorgeous photograph album. It is the kind with the cardboard frame pages inside (see my flickr for more photos). I saw Pam Garrison had altered one similar at some point and hers was gorgeous but I am nervous..... help me! What should I do with this??

Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday to my little pumpkin. She is turning 9 today. I can hardly believe it. I can still see clearly in my mind..... 7:11 a.m. on June 12, 1999 - I am holding her in my arms for the very first time. She is awake and alert. My husband is standing behind me looking down at us. She has a full head of dark hair and she looks at us, me and him, like she has known us along, as if to say.... hi mom, hi dad. That scene is imprinted on my brain forever and it has been my pleasure ever since. Happy Birthday..... thank you for making my world a magical place.

I miss you

I am thinking of you tonight-
I would have brought you peonies for your birthday tomorrow-
I can still hear your laughter, I can still see your smile-
The fun that we shared was over too fast -
I hope you have your feet deep in the sand up there in heaven -
I miss you so very much.
